This is an important upgrade for Facebook Advertisers. According to reports, Facebook is eliminating its restrictions on advertisements that include more than 20% text from the main image.
As shared by Social Networking expert Matt Navarra, Facebook is calling advertisers direct to notify them of this upgrade, explaining that. .we will no longer penalize advertisements with high amounts of picture text in auctions and delivery.”

The rule, as you can see, was fairly clear – advertisements with too much text in their images would not be approved.

Facebook even supplied a Text Overlay instrument to test if your advertisement aligns with the 20% restriction.


That tool is also no longer available, as Facebook looks to facilitate back its text in ad image constraints. Occasionally, Facebook’s enforcement process in this respect has also been faulty, so it will be a relief for many to observe those limits removed.

Over the years, Facebook has repeatedly noted that Facebook and Instagram users dislike ads with too much text in the main picture, so it’s limited such apparently to improve the overall user experience. This new upgrade removes any reach restriction with this, meaning that ads with over 20% text from the primary image will be shown, as normal, and will achieve the same amount of people as any other Facebook ad. As you can see in the official explanation, Facebook nevertheless maintains that advertisement images with less than 20 percent text function better, and urges that advertisers”keep your text short, concise and clear to receive your message across efficiently”.
But should you include more text in your advertisement image, your advertisement will run, and could theoretically reach only as many people as every other campaign, depending upon your approach.
